Freedom Bell Ringing
8 a.m. to 5 p.m., USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park

The public is invited to ring the Freedom Bell from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Dec. 9. The bell is rung in honor of all men and women who have served, or are serving in the Armed Forces. The bell will remain until Dec. 10. For additional information about the Spirit of Liberty Foundation and their Freedom Bell, visit spiritoflibertyfoundation.com.

Ewa Plain Battlefield Commemoration
9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Ewa Plain Battlefield

Join members of the local community and veterans for the annual observance of the attack on Ewa Mooring Mast Field that was defended by the United States Marines. The theme this year will be about the historic Ewa Plantation, Fort Barrette and its part in the larger Ewa Plain Battlefield. The ceremony honors those who were killed that day, including Marines, Ewa civilians and the Army and Navy pilots shot down by Ewa Field. POC: Mr. John Bond at (808) 685-3045.

Pearl Harbor Youth Day
10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor

Families and visitors of all ages can explore the lessons and legacy of WWII and the history of Pearl Harbor through special presentations, exhibits, and hands-on activities. This year’s theme, “Remembering the Pearl Harbor Child” will focus on those who witnessed the attack as children and lived through the war years in Hawaii.
